We all have a career story...

An …And mine has not been linear! 

Some people know exactly what they "want to be when they grow up" and go for it.  I call these people the “Main Highway or I-95 Travelers of Life” ~ They merge onto the Highway of Life and take the passing lane to their career.  That’s not me.  I have been more of a “Blue Highways Traveler”.  You know, following the little blue lines on the road map ~ the backroads filled with detours and adventure; the roads less traveled.

This is why I am completely fired up about career development and so devoted to helping people secure work they love – work that is meaningful and impactful. 

My vision is to assist as many people as I can to secure work that makes them love Monday mornings!

That said, I don’t believe that we ever have to only choose one thing to be “when we grow up”, nor does that always make sense for long term career health.  We can have more than one interest, possess many skills we are good at, and explore several potential career choices available to us. My mission is to support people in getting clear, identifying viable options, deciding on the optimal choice, (or partnering of choices), and designing the road map to get there while having some fun along the way!    

I have come to know that my purpose is assisting smart, curious, authentic, ambitious and courageous professionals like you and me to secure work that expresses purpose, ignites passion and fuels potential. 

I am passionate about assisting people to develop a kick-butt brand and create cutting edge marketing materials, (resumes, networking briefs, LinkedIn profile, website content), that fully represents them in a powerful and memorable way, setting them apart from the competition. 

I have tried my hand at many things over my career, (from coffee roaster to community developer), and the common theme running through all of my diverse experiences has been my love of communication.  I shine when I can support individuals one-on-one and within organizations to foster the skill of communicating respectfully and effectively, resulting in healthier relationships, expanded opportunities and happier work spaces. 

Another area of my work that makes my heart sing is coaching clients to:  Attract and engage the right people into their network, and clearly communicate their value to a potential employer or client. 

I believe in helping people save valuable time, energy and money by quickly winning face time with hiring authorities, acing interviews that land your next role and securing clients!

Lastly, some general factoids about me:   I am a Certified Career Development Practitioner with a B.A. from the University of British Columbia, and I received my coach training and credentials from Coach U, out of Chicago IL.

Over my career I have been fortunate enough to partner with business leaders and high level professionals across a variety of roles and industries in the public, private and not for profit sectors throughout Canada, the U.S. and further afield. 

Outside of coaching and consulting, I actually really enjoy reading up on economic trends, (nerdy, I know).  I am also an avid cyclist, a dedicated foodie, a real chocoholic, a crazed dog lover, (I have three), and an adventurous hiker.
